Miller Time Tailgate Bands Announced
HOUSTON – Popular Miller Lite artist Bart Crow and up and coming Texas Country group Scooter Brown Band will both perform live during the Miller Time Tailgate prior to the 2013 AdvoCare Texas Kickoff on Saturday, August 31st. The pair will headline the festivities leading up to the game, which will begin at 11:00 AM CST, prior to the game’s kickoff at 2:30 PM CST.
Crow, a native of Maypearl, TX, grew up in the country music scene watching his father play in a dance hall cover band throughout his childhood. After a tour in the Army, Crow began concentrating even more on his music career, dedicating himself to studying country legends like Merle Haggard, George Jones and Waylon Jennings while also being influenced by iconic rock groups like Boston, Kansas and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Following his military service, Crow moved to Austin with his soon to be wife and began working during the week while playing on the road every weekend. He worked his way up through the Texas Country scene, opening for established acts like Randy Rogers and the Eli Young Band. One of the fastest growing Texas Country artists, Crow now headlines his own shows across the country and has released a handful of increasingly successful albums over the last few years.
The Scooter Brown Band also possesses a military connection, as frontman Scott Brown completed a tour of duty in Iraq in the Marines. Following his service, Brown decided to fully commit to his music career and put together a band. The up and coming Texas Country band blends a number of rock elements with a gritty, red dirt sound to create some of the most unique songs on the radio. The band has produced a number of radio hits, including “Apology” and “Whiskey Talkin,” and just released a new album entitled “Valor” which is already moving its way up the iTunes charts.
The Miller Time Tailgate, the official pregame party for the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff, will take place in Blue Lot 18 on the south end of Reliant Stadium, with activity on the stage beginning at 11:00 AM CST. All fans with game tickets will be admitted into the Miller Time Tailgate. Along with the performances, the Miller Time Tailgate will also feature sponsor giveaways, inflatable games for the kids, and a live spirit contest on where four lucky fans will win upgraded seats to the game.
